The annual fashion festival kicked off last night with an amazing show by General Pants Co, and if the sneak peek of their new designs was anything to go by we're 110% sure that this weekend is going to be one that you won't want to miss.

Collections by many of the industries best designers will be on display for those lucky ones who scored themselves a ticket to this years festival, and if you won't be making it this year you can check out photos and videos from the shows on the MBFF website here. The festival will showcase collections by Alice McCall, Bec & Bridge, Shakuhachi, Camilla and Marc, Bless'ed Are the Meek, Staple The Label, By Johnny, We Are Handsome, Kardashian Kollection and many more!

If it's leather you're after, Museum is the place to go. Considering what a huge trend it's become, especially as we approach the cooler season, Museum has a huge leather collection that extends from leather jackets and asymmetrical skirts to bustiers and crop tops. Alongside their leather, there's some bold pops of colour, fur jackets and unique prints. The store definitely has a variety of pieces which guarantees you'll find something you're throwing on with every outfit to add instant glam.

Splendour in the Grass Style Guide

Splendour in the Grass is fast approaching at the end of this week and we're getting our outfits sorted early! The 3 day festival in Byron Bay is renown for it's unpredictable weather and therefore layering is key when it comes to surviving Splendour in style. You definitely need a fedora to keep the sun off your face during the day and your head warm later on. Sunnies are also key - a cute tortoiseshell pair will give you extra style points. Chambray shirts have been a huge hit and are great for layering over a crochet cami, and just incase it's extra chilly, throw on a khaki anorak. You can't possibly go to a festival without a pair of denim cut offs - it just wouldn't be right! And lastly, some gumboots will be a life saver if previous years are anything to go by. You'll be grateful for the warm, dry feet by the end of the day!

The ultimate contrast between hard and soft for this winter is The Bomber Jacket. Whether you prefer printed, embellished or school-jock stripes, the bomber is the perfect addition to any outfit (for guys too!). Team it with a plain dress or ankle biters to show off the crop and detailing of the jacket. If you are the too-cool-for-school rebel grab one in leather.
